Welcome to day 5 of our #ElevatedSocialDistancing challenge. Today, Jeanette talks to us about guided imagery meditation. Guided imagery (sometimes called guided meditation, visualization, mental rehearsal, and guided self-hypnosis) is a gentle but powerful technique that focuses the imagination in proactive, positive ways.
It can be as simple as closing your eyes and taking a deep breath in, just before you get out of bed in the morning, imagining how perfect the day is about to be. Or it can be as complex as imagining your dream vacation, on a beach surrounded by calm, blue waters and fresh air, completely disconnected from technology and everyday stress, imagining who you are there with, how the sand between your toes feel, and so on.
For today’s meditation, you'll spend 8-minutes doing a guided imagry meditation. Find a comfortabel place, close your eyes and just begin dreaming. Then, decide how you'll apply some of the imagry into your day-to-day life!
