About This Class
In this 60-minute workshop style class, learn the fundamentals of this fun, yet challenging practice at a slower pace, giving students the chance to begin building the strength and flexibility required for poses in all of our classes.
What can I expect? An instructor will lead students through a warm up sequence that will incorporate pranayama (breath work) into the practice, before moving into foundational aerial asanas (poses) and sequences geared to introduce movement with the aerial silk, including inversions, in a small group setting - these classes are kept small in order to give you as much individualized instruction as possible. Each class will end with a relaxing, mediative savasana. Be sure to visit our What to Expect page prior to your visit to the studio.
How many should I attend? Students new to the studio are required to attend one Fundamentals before graduating into our Level 1+ classes, however, you are invited to attend as many as you'd like to not only learn the basics of an aerial yoga practice, but to build a strong foundation for a safe and effective long-term practice in our studio.
What if I've taken aerial yoga somewhere else? That's awesome! You'll likely fit right in and be well on your way to progress through our classes in no time! Because you know what it is like to be new, you can understand why it's so important everyone take our Fundamentals class first. This will ensure you're familiar with our teaching style and queuing before diving into your first class, and ensure you have the BEST experience possible.
