Dr. Lewis recognizes that medicine often draws a line between general medical care and psychological health care, which can be particularly detrimental for women experiencing hormonally mediated conditions.


In her practice, Dr. Lewis adopts an integrative approach, blending evidence-based treatments with personalized care that considers patient preferences, goals, and symptom severity. As a certified menopause specialist through the Menopause Society since 2012, she offers informed insights into managing the complexities of hormonal transitions. Her extensive postgraduate training in reproductive mental health further equips her to support women dealing with the combined physical and mental challenges of perimenopause.


Dr. Lewis emphasizes the importance of correcting misinformation surrounding hormones and the menopausal transition. She notes, "Perimenopause can be a challenging time of life. I hear from patients that they are doing everything right, and yet they continue to have poor sleep, moodiness, and weight gain. There is so much misinformation out there surrounding hormones in the menopausal transition and I see it as my job to correct the record, offering evidence-based information you can use to be your healthiest, mentally & physically, as you progress through this challenging time of life."

Guest Host: Jenny Guzon-Bae

Joining Dr. Lewis is Jenny Guzon-Bae, an experienced yoga instructor registered with the Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) and Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) since 2008. With thousands of hours of teaching experience, Jenny has a deep understanding of the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga and how they can benefit women during perimenopause.


Jenny's classes emphasize intelligent, creative sequencing that combines functional movement with a strong focus on anatomy and structural strengthening. Her intention is to provide a practice that challenges and calms, empowering students to leave feeling uplifted and peaceful. Having experienced perimenopause firsthand, Jenny understands the profound impact it can have on one's physical and mental well-being.


"I just turned 54 last May, and I’m two years post-menopausal. And thank goodness! Perimenopause and the months leading up to being officially post-menopausal were so draining and challenging," Jenny shares. She recalls struggling with symptoms such as weight gain, mood swings, hot flashes, brain fog, headaches, and skin issues. As the eldest among her friends and with little guidance from family, Jenny felt lost in her journey through perimenopause. However, she emerged on the other side feeling mentally balanced and symptom-free.


Her goal in this workshop is to provide guidance and support to women who, like her, may feel uncertain about their experiences. By collaborating with Dr. Leigh Lewis, Jenny aims to create a space where women can learn to maintain their mental health and fitness through yoga and mindfulness practices.
